Winter Scene - CN Railway Bridge Telkwa British Columbia (4 - Pictures/Video)

the Telkwa River flows into the Bulkley River.

Telkwa is a wonderful small village which can be found in British Columbia. If you are planning a trip through, or to visit you would follow Highway 16 west from Prince George, B.C. for approximately 350 kilometres. Telkwa and area are rich in history and you can venture through Telkwa’s Museum for a look back in time. Also Telkwa boasts about it’s Tyhee Lake Provincial Park, and they have a right too, it is beautiful.

Camping is available in the park and the campsites are secluded, this way you can lay back and take it easy and there is large parking lot for day visitors. Also on site are horseshoe pits and a volleyball net in case you want to get your competitive side on.

St. Stephen’s Anglican Heritage Church Telkwa British Columbia

Telkwa British Columbia.

In Telkwa British Columbia you will find a beautiful 1910 old church which sits right along sidfe Highway 16. It seems the Telkwa Museum Society looks after the church and will rent it out for special occasions.

You can visit the Telkwa website for details if you wish to rent the old church.

Telkwa British Columbia

A few days ago we drove out to Telkwa from our home in Houston, British Columbia. It was such a beautiful day we decided to head out.

This time I wanted to get some pictures from around the two bridges that are really close together. One of the bridges is for the CN Railway, and the other for vehicle traffic. The Telkwa River runs under the Railroad bridge, and the river flowing under the vehicle bridge is the Bulkley River.

To view the bridge photos, and a short video clip, please visit Brian Vike's Travel Blog at:

Telkwa British Columbia Museum

Above Photo: Sign for the Museum In Telkwa, British Columbia.

On my many travels around northern British Columbia, I have passed the Telkwa Museum most likely a few hundred times and have never stopped in to see what the museum has for Telkwa's history.

Finally when I did stop by this past September, the museum was of course closed for the year. Although I wasn't able to view the artifacts which are inside, there still was some interesting items outside on display.

I have posted a few pictures below that can be viewed outside along Highway 16. There also is another area on the grounds which is fenced off, behind the fence you can see a number of really cool machines from the past.

To view the pictures and read a little more on the Museum, please visit the below link.
