Light Hovers Then Shoots Downward Over Vancouver British Columbia

Location of Sighting: Knight at 49th.

Shape of Objects: A single light.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: The sun had set, but the sky was still light. I was driving westward and between two clouds I noticed a light suddenly appear in the sky.

It was about the size of a helicopter's light hovering above the city. It caught my eye because it was oddly bright in the lite sky. It appeared and hovered for a moment before shooting downward in an angle and disappearing.

I was only able to compare it's size because just to the right of it there was a helicopter moving about.

Large Bright Light Travel Downward In The Sky Over Schenectady New York

Time:  Before midnight.

I had almost the same exact experience in upstate NY in bed watching TV and the window to my left lit up. There was a streaming bright light traveled downward from above behind trees and out of my view.

I kept thinking it was like a large fireworks falling in the woods, kept waiting for a boom or to feel the vibration upon impact, but silence. So it must have been very big, very bright and much farther away, this took place right around midnight.

I have been looking today to see if anyone else saw it. Kind of relieved I found this site.

I live in Schenectady, NY.

Bright White Objects Traveling Downward Seen From Point Loma San Diego

Time:  Approx: 6:45 p.m.

My name is (name removed). please give me a call (phone number removed). I was in Point Loma about to get in my car at around 6:45 p.m. and drive home to normal heights when I saw what I thought was an airplane with streaking lights coming off the back.

So my next guess was a blimp because of the holiday bowl and I thought I was just seeing the lights of the side panel on the blimp, until it broke apart and a piece came off with a fireball coming off the end of it until it just stopped in mid air.

It glowed bright white and the other part of it now looked the same. They were sort of hovering there and slowly moving straight downward, not like a plane at an angle, but straight down. Then out of nowhere a third light showed up, didn't see it coming in or out, just bam, there it was.

They all started traveling downward until they ducked out of sight behind a tree line. So the next part is what's really weird. I was guessing they were coming from the stadium area to the northeast of me.

On my way home going east on the 8 I was looking to the right where airport traffic was in full effect and I saw to planes. One had blinking lights and it was moving, a normal plane, the other had no blinking lights and was just hovering there.

I couldn't just stop on the freeway, so I kept going, then I circled back around through uptown trying to find it by another vantage point, but never found it again. I was really hoping I’d find someone else who could validate this experience and my brother's girlfriend found your blog post. Crazy world.

Giant Fireball Red In Color Turned Blue Speeding Downward Over City Of Hercules California

Time:  Approx: 5:10 p.m.

I just saw the same thing over northern California tonight- December 19, 2012 around 5:10 p.m. I was traveling westbound on HWY 80 and near the city of Hercules a giant ball of fire appeared in the sky, reddish in color for a split second then bright blue with a white center as it came straight down.

There was no tail just a ball of glowing blue. It looked like it was going to land in a neighborhood, but then vanished all of a sudden.

I've been looking for any reports online about it, but nothing so far. I've seen falling stars and meteor showers before and this object was not the same.

Bright Green Beam Of Light Shot Downward Towards The Ground Over Southern California

Time:  Approx: 1:20 a.m.

Hi, my name is (name removed) and I live in Southern California. Tonight I was driving home on the freeway at about 1:20 a.m. As I was driving I look up over the mountains to my left and see a bright green beam shoot vertically down from the sky.

Right away I knew it wasn't a shooting star or comet because the beam's diameter was much, much wider and vertical as opposed to other astronomical objects. I rushed home to find out what it was and your website was the first article to appear on Google.

The beam lasted all of about two seconds and as you look towards the center on the beam the green slowly fades to a yellow-ish color. When it dissipated it somewhat "evaporated" or "dissipated". The length of the beam can be compared to the length of a shooting star.

The beam itself was very wide. I can't tell if I heard anything because I had my windows up and music playing.

White/Orange Lights Shoots Downward Over Sacramento California

We just saw a strange light in the sky and Googled to see if anyone else saw it.

My son saw it first and I finally glanced after about 6 seconds and saw a white/orange light shooting at a down angle to the northwest which appeared at first like a firework or something, then exploded with a flash all the time with no sound at all. Was it a meteorite, a star or ?

Ball Of Light Shinning Downward Seen Between Alamosa Colorado To Chama New Mexico

My mother in law was driving home from Alamosa Colorado to Chama New Mexico at approximately 11:00 p.m. (MST) just a couple miles north of town she looked to the east and she saw a ball of light shining down.

Bright Green Ball Of Light Falls Straight Downward Over Mississauga Ontario

My name is (removed) and I was driving around at 1:00 a.m. in the morning with my older brother, and we seen a bright green ball of light come straight down from the sky.

It looked like a firework and we froze, it happened so fast, but what makes this strange is that since 6:30 p.m. that day (October 16, 2012) we seen many flashing lights in the sky over Milton, to Mississauga.

We also seen what appeared to be fighter jets and chopper gunners circling the area for about 5 hours straight, we could not understand this.

We looked to the news and nothing came up. Also my grandma and younger brother seen a yellow bright light being circled by jets then it exploded straight up to the sky and vanished.

There was also a strange smell outside. I have never seen anything like this in my life.

Bright Blue Light Lights Up The Area And Shoots Downward Over Manning South Carolina

This is in response to the Columbia sighting, I seen the exact same thing. I was driving on I-95 South by exit 98 when I seen a bright blue light, light up the sky then shoot down.

The time was 1:56 a.m., it scared the crap out of me. I know it was not fire works because it didn't look like it was free falling.

It looked like it was shot straight down with such a force. The color was like the moon.

Orange Ball Of Light Shot Right Downward Over Orange Beach Alabama

Time:  Approx: 11:00 p.m.

Hi, my name is (name removed) and I live in Birmingham, Al. I was at Orange Beach, Al. on August 29th of this year, the night after Hurricane Isaac passed through. I am a hurricane lover and just came down for that. It was only my dog and I there plus a hand full of people on the entire beach.

There had been a previous mandatory evacuation, any how, it was about 11:00 p.m. and I went out to the balcony and looked up and noticed two, or three pelicans just sort of hovering over above about three feet out in the gulf and they seemed very strange acting.

All of a sudden out of nowhere an orange ball of light appeared right by the birds, scared me really bad and then just shot straight down and I ran inside. I immediately thought of being abducted.

Anyway no one else seemed to have seen it then, but was my first UFO! Now I can't keep my head out of the sky. Sounds like what you saw. Just thought I would let you know. Hope I hear from you.
