Orange Lights In The Sky Over Santa Cruz County California

Date:  May 6, 2012
Time:  12:05 a.m.

Hi, I saw the report from Lakewood, Washington on May 5th, 2012 and I, too, saw something similar. I'm in central California (Santa Cruz County) and at about 12:05 a.m. (May 6th)

I saw two orange lights in the sky. They were close together and they were on the right side (west side) of the moon. They looked like planets in that they were very bright, except these were definitely bright orange in color.

Even weirder is that one of them moved laterally toward the other and back again. The stationary one then disappeared. I pulled my car over, got out, and photographed the one that moved, although in my photo it just looks like a white star.

Right after I took the picture, it suddenly got dimmer and then that one disappeared as well. All told, I saw them both for maybe 2 minutes, perhaps less.

Am I the only one who saw this?
