Object’s Color Went From Yellow To Green Blue Then White With Long Tail Over Massapequa Park New York

Dear Brian, I just Googled “shooting star January 5, 2013 6:30 pm” and it up pulled up your web site.

I have this to share with you.

I live in Massapequa Park, LI, NY and we have planes that come in from the south shore every night.  Last night, around 6:30 p.m.,  I was outside looking up at the sky, it was so clear and lots of star seven with the street lights and all.

All of the sudden, I see the large burst of yellow and the star was moving south, opposite of the directions the planes are going. So it took me a second to realize what I was looking at. 

The star then changes colors. It goes from yellow to green, then blue and then white with the longest tail ever that I have ever seen.

I have seen a lot of shooting stars, but nothing like this.  It was unbelievable, my son was with me and he saw it when it was white. It was slow at first, the it took off.

At Least 15 Orange Colored Lights Flew Over Massapequa New York

Time:  11:00 p.m.

Saw the same thing tonight, August 11, 2012 at 11:00 p.m. over Massapequa. At least 15 orange orbs low in the sky traveling from southwest to northeast at a steady speed over about a 30 minute period. Usually one at a time.

Never saw anything like it before. I heard there were supposed to be meteor showers tonight, but not until after 12 midnight. these did not look like any meteor I ever saw before due to the steady rate of speed and the fact that that light did not dissipate as the orbs moved across the sky.

Any idea what these were?

4 Orange Balls Of Fire In The Sky Over Massapequa New York

Time:  Approx: 9:20 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 4
Shape of Objects: Balloon shaped and round.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was driving on N. Central Ave Massapequa going north toward N. Queens Ave when I saw 4 objects in the sky.

I first thought they were hot air balloons, but then the orange glow got deeper and they looked like balls of fire.

I called my friend and drove to her house and picked her up so she could see them also.

When she got into the car the four balls had changed to two. But they were very visible for another few minutes.

Three Orange Fireballs In The Sky Over Massapequa Long Island New York

Time:  9:40 p.m.

 

I just saw the three fireballs over Massapequa Long Island 21:40hrs July 8th. They formed a triangle and were moving in a northeasterly direction.

 

Flew literally over me, but being as it was dark and they were small, I could not determine altitude.
