Huge Flaming Object Falling Out Of The Sky Near Haines City Florida

Date:  February 8, 2013
Time:  Early morning.

I was on my way to work yesterday, Friday, February 8, 2013, when I saw a huge flaming object falling in the sky near Haines City, Florida. It appeared in the western sky (towards Tampa, Florida).

What concerned me was that it may be an airplane crashing. The object with a huge flat surface, was "billowing" flames orange/red above the flat surface (which looked like the leading edge of an airplane). 

There was a bright red light in the middle of the flames above the leading edge of the flat surface. The light was not blinking. 

I had pulled my car off the side of the road to observe (approximately 10 to 15 seconds). Then, I called my wife to tell her what I saw. 

She contacted a local television station in Tampa, FL, with the concern that perhaps an airplane may have crashed. They thanked her and said that they would investigate it. 

We called the television station again yesterday afternoon. They had no other information, but put us through to the television's meteorologist.

After explaining what I saw, he stated that he had heard of other incidents like this in the past. He confirmed that it was not weather related.

Bright Blue Oval Light Seen Falling From The Sky Over The State Of Massachusetts

Time:  12:15 a.m.

Attention: Brian Vike. I saw a post about the bright light. I am up in Massachusetts. I saw the same exact thing last night, at 12:15 am. I was up late watching TV (as usual) and a very bright blue light caught my eye falling from the sky.

Very bright! It was an orb, more oval, blue ball, like the size of a volleyball. No trail, no noise. Whatever it was fell slow, as slow as a snowflake would fall. My first reaction was "what the hell was that", and I immediately got up to look out the window, but didn't see anything.

My first thought was perhaps there was a meteor shower or something. Or maybe our neighbors were lighting off fireworks and the hot after effects is what I saw falling. They weren't and this was clearly bright blue.

Lasted for 3 seconds (the time I saw it, it was perhaps longer, considering the view I had was out my window)

I searched the internet and the only thing I've found that describes this is "ball lightning", but there wasn't lighting in our area. There was a major cold front moving through, which could explain it.

It was really weird to see, had to look it up, so glad to know other people have seen this same thing. If it was ball lightning it is supposed to be very rare to see.

Two Bright Blue Balls Of Light Lit Up The Night And Seen Falling Out Of The Sky Over Bergen County Northern New Jersey

Time:  Between 11:55 p.m. and 12:00 a.m.

I'm also from Bergen County (Northern NJ) and I was driving on Route 202 last night it was exactly between 11:55 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. midnight.

I personally think it was 11:58 p.m. to be precise) when my friend in the passenger seat saw two bright blue balls of light come falling out of the sky and that's when I saw what looked like a strange blue lightening light up the whole night sky.

We kind of freaked out about it, this is not the first time I've encountered something like this. It was definitely weird, but nothing was on the news about it.

I waited until today to see if anyone would have posted anything about it and sure enough I found this. And I think it is amazing someone that lives over a hour away from where I live in Mount Pocono, PA saw it as well.

I have no explanation for this. And it was also weird because Jupiter was visible next to the moon last night. I was hoping more people witnessed this. It was definitely a sight to see!

Blue Fireball/Meteor Observed Falling From The Sky Over Bethlehem Pennsylvania

Time:  Around midnight.

Last night around 12:00 a.m. I'm not sure of the time I seen from the corner of my eye a light and I live in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. I ran to the window and seen a blue meteor looking object flying across.

What I found weird was the object came downward, not across the sky like a shooting star. I was scared because I was sure it was something serious. I opened my Facebook in my phone and posted if anyone had seen it right away, and waited to see if anyone else would say something like with every other serious event.

I only had one friend who witnessed it as well. This morning I searched all over Google for a sighting report or something and only came across your posting because of my other friend that had seen it.

It's so frustrating because I know I seen it and almost no one else did and I'm really curious. I know it has to be something different. Meteor? Some UFO? I'm even willing to believe some debris from space or a ship or something.

But I'm glad I'm not the only one who seen it. Feel free to reply or something!

Bright Light/Object Seen Falling Out Of The Sky Over Oreland Pennsylvania

Time:  Just before midnight.

Last night while laying in bed around midnight, I saw a bright light out of the window from the corner of my eye. I looked and saw it continue to fall for about 2-3 seconds until it was out of sight in the horizon. 

The light was much too big and bright than a typical shooting star. I first assumed it was a plane crash or something like that. I immediately looked on social media for others to mention, but no one did. 

So I looked it up today and saw that many others from my area saw something similar near the same time. Weird!

Exploding Fiery Object Falling From The Sky Over Williamstown New Jersey

Mr. Vike, last night, around 11:55 in Williamstown, NJ, I was on my way home and saw a fiery object falling from the sky, that I thought was either a plane crashing or a meteor falling from space. 

It freaked me out, and I immediately pulled over. It fell straight down and before it fell beyond my site, it exploded like a fireball. I was expecting to hear a crash or see some type of explosion from impact, but there was nothing of the sort. 

It was crazy, and everyone I talked to thinks I’m crazy!  This is the only site where people are reporting this sighting, but I knew others had to have seen it too!  Please keep in contact with me if you find out what this object was.

Burning Blue Large Bright Object Falling From The Sky Over Near Keeseville New York

Hi, I saw a burning blue, extremely bright and  large falling star to the west of me. I was driving home from my evening shift and was at these coordinates at the time: 44.455839, -73.488235.

The star fell almost due west of me and seemed to explode partway down. It was remarkable in that it was snowing pretty heavily at the time with lake effect snow and it startled me that I could see it so brightly through the snow.

I feared it was a plane going down but I believe it was too fast and blue for a plane.

Observed Large Bright Blue Glowing Object Falling From The Sky Over Cranbrook British Columbia

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Weird falling object over Cranbrook BC, East Kootenays area.

Hi there, I was trying to Google to see if there was any news on what I saw fall out of the sky.

A friend and myself were standing outside in Cranbrook, B.C. facing north toward Kimberly B.C. We observed a large object and very bright blue in color, seeming to be glowing on the outer edge between green and blue.

The object seemed to be going straight down towards the ground .

It seemed to be sort of florescent, it also was moving very fast, it was not like any shooting star I had ever seen before as it seemed to have no fiery tail behind it.

It was round in shape and very bright blue color in the center, but seemed to be glowing on the outer edge between blue and green.

The object was very large in size. Distance seemed to be 20 miles away but hard to tell as it was moving very fast and straight down on a slight angle to the left (west) and we observed it from Cranbrook so it was north of us towards Kimberley, B.C.

It was not going across the sky like other meteors I have seen before with a tail behind it.

It was bright looking with bluish/green color on outer edge and bright blue through the rest. As I explained and it was going pretty fast. We observed it for about 3 to 4 seconds.
We were expecting to hear a big bang or something. As it seemed to heading towards land, but we lost sight of it as it got closer to the ground we lost view of because of the mountains, It was silent. Strangest thing I've ever seen.

It was not like any falling object I have observed in the past from time to time seeing what most call falling stars. Just curious if anyone had seen this object. Also if any idea what it could have been. Thank you.

Blue/Yellow Oval Shaped Glowing Object With Short Tail Falling From The Sky Over Northern Virginia

Time:  Around 2:35 p.m. – 2 ;45 p.m.

Hello, We saw a strange object in the sky over Northern Virginia today at around 2:35-2:45 p.m. It looked like a white/bluish oval glowing shape falling from the sky, too slow to be a meteor or comet, and to big and bright to be any plane or aircraft.

A small glowing tail, but not smoke. As it got lower it got brighter, and then it seemed to stop falling, and just float, before it started to move away from us, to the west.

It got smaller and the glow got weaker as it faded away. We were able to see to other planes in the same area, as the sky was very blue and clear today, with no clouds. We are 100% sure that it was not a meteor or a plane. I don’t know if anyone else saw it? Thanks.

Orange Light Falling From The Sky Over San Diego California

Just around 12:05 a.m. January 1, 2013 my family and I noticed a orange object falling from the sky.

We thought it was a plane or meteor, but then the orange light turned off and the object changed direction mid flight and went up then straight down and then disappeared.

I have never seen nothing like it. It was definitely not a man made device I have ever seen in the sky.

Objects Falling From The Sky Over Chicago Illinois

Time:  Evening.

I saw your blog about the green light. I was at a park with my friends earlier this year. Maybe February and I was using Google sky map on my phone. We noticed a star next to Jupiter that didn't register on the app.

After 20 seconds it started moving. It was very slow at first, but when I started recording with my phone it came much closer, very fast, starting flashing red and white very brightly then bolted away into the black sky within seconds.

Mind you I live in Chicago which is very lit up. Literally just five minutes ago I was looking east towards lake Michigan while driving and saw a straight line of black smoke, and it appeared an object was falling.

It went lower and lower then the object and trail disappeared. No sound or light. Just fell and disappeared  creepy. Have you had any other sightings?

Large Ball Of White Light Falling Out Of The Sky Seen Near Mohegan Sun Casino Connecticut

Brian, my whole family is driving on route 2 near Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. In the sky there was a fairly large ball of white light falling down towards the ground.

I have seen several shooting stars before and I know what I saw tonight was not a shooting star, because it was larger. It was moving at a kind of fast pace. Thanks for your time.

Vivid Bright Blue Object Seen Falling Out Of The Sky Over Raleigh North Carolina

Time:  Approx: 10:00 p.m.

Last night around 10:00 p.m. my wife and I were driving down I-40 (westbound) in Raleigh and saw a vivid bright blue object moving also westbound parallel to the highway.

It was on a downward trajectory away from the city and went straight down off to the side of the highway past the trees and then lit up just as it got near the ground.

It went from being a few hundred feet in the air to the ground in less than two seconds. This appearance is consistent with other sightings reported in Raleigh recently.

Huge Falling Ball Of Fire With Tail Fell Out Of The Sky Over Homestead Florida

I witnessed the same thing earlier tonight. I did not see it split. It remained one huge falling ball of fire with a tail, falling straight down in the sky. The sun had set, but there was still plenty of light out. It fell really slow and was much to large to be a shooting star.

What was this? I tried finding info online, but I cannot find anyone else who has seen this.
