Greetings, I found your website while searching for information regarding unusual lights seen the night sky on the evening of Thursday, the 10th of January, 2013. Between 5:30 and 6:30 pm, 3 strange red lights were seen in the eastern sky, in a small town in Northern Minnesota.
I am located near Eveleth, MN which is about 60 miles north of Duluth, MN. There were also numerous white lights spotted. The white lights seemed to “burn out” and suddenly disappear. The lights were compared to “giant fireflies” in the sky.
The three red lights were very large, much larger than the white lights. The 3 red lights appeared to come down low in the sky, leading witnesses to believe it was possibly airplane lights, but then the lights suddenly disappeared from the sky.
I, as well as my family members spend a lot of time outside viewing the night sky. We have never seen anything like this before. We are confident that this was not a known flying object such as a plane or a jet- which we often see as we live near a small, rural airport.
