Object Streaked Through The Sky And Broke Up Into Embers Seen From New York State

Date:  January 5, 2013
Time:  Approx 6:30 p.m.

I saw some similar posts on your site. Me my wife and her friend were traveling southbound on New Yorks thruway on January 5, around 6:30 p.m. near exit 18 or 19. We saw what looked like a huge meteor or shooting star coming toward earth at angle. 

Streaked with tail and then broke up into embers like a firework. My second thought is that it was an aircraft crashing, but it was moving really fast.  

Please post this. I'm looking on Internet about news relating to this. My theory is military testing of rockets or something.
